ASK FOR THE PRIZE
1 Samuel 17:25-27 (26) – And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? (KJV)
The issues of life can be so tough sometimes that many visionary people and potential leaders have drowned in the storms. This mainly happens because people lack the courage to face their challenges and push through. In today’s Bible reading, Goliath posed a challenge that Israel should choose a man to fight him, and fear gripped the land for days. But David stood out and asked for the prize for the challenge. What happened after that was that David defeated Goliath with the help of God.
When faced with hard times, you need to know the prize to gain when you persevere and the price to pay if you give up. David always sought information from God and others before proceeding on an assignment. In 1 Samuel 23:4, David inquired of God if he should go to Keilah to fight the Philistines. He did the same thing in 1 Samuel 30:8.
Beloved, learn from David never to quit in the trying season but to understand the mind of God regarding your situation and the prize of victory. This will give you the momentum to move into action and prevail over the obstacles through divine backing. My prayer for you is that you will be patient in seeking God and follow His direction because you will win, in Jesus’ name.

1. Father, shine Your light into the current circumstances surrounding my life.
2. Father, I desire to know what to do concerning my life and assignment, please lead me on the best path.
3. Father, uplift Your Church and our nations from the mud of life and affliction of darkness.
