ALL IN LOVE
1 Corinthians 16:14 – Do everything in love. (NIV)
Angelina moved into an apartment and had an elderly woman as a neighbour. The woman hated Angelina so much that she would throw faeces into her backyard. When the woman had heart surgery, Angelina was among the first to visit, and she came with fresh roses and other gifts. The old woman was moved to tears and confessed to throwing faeces into her neighbour’s garden. While the young lady presented the lovely roses to the woman, she said, “These beautiful roses are from my garden. They grew rapidly because of the faeces (manure) you threw there”.
Beloved, when the world throws dirt at you, do not let it stick to you. When they play the drumbeat of war and aggression, you sing a tune of peace and forgiveness. This was what Jesus did when He told God to forgive His persecutors because they were ignorant (Luke 23:34). Let genuine love be the source of your actions, as today’s Bible text reads. There is a beautiful rose waiting to spring up from your garden through the faeces thrown at you. This will take your enemies by surprise. If your behaviour is similar to that of the old woman, I encourage you to repent. Otherwise, stay on course like Angelina. Never be moved. Keep loving, caring, and praying. Love will win!

1. I receive the grace to forgive and forget the evils done against me. Therefore, Father:
a. Let the enemy be at peace with me.
b. Assist me in repaying in love and generosity.
2. Father, help me, my family, nation, and the Church to love by action and not just by lips.
3. Father, give me the capacity to quench every form of ignorance within and around my life and children’s lives.
