ABRAHAMIC COVENANT (2)

Genesis 26:14-16 (16) – Then Abimelek said to Isaac, “Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us.” (NIV)

In previous lessons, we learnt that God blessed Isaac. The possession of numerous flocks, herds, and servants, as well as the fear that nations had of him, were among Isaac’s blessings. But, the Philistines envied Isaac because of his prosperity and blocked the wells of his father, Abraham. As seen in our Bible reading, the Philistine king also saw Isaac as a threat to his kingdom and sent him away. Consequently, Isaac successfully dug several wells, and the Philistines returned to make peace with him.

All of these things happened to Isaac because of the Abrahamic covenant at work and his response to divine instructions. The Lord never left Isaac. He reassured him of the promises to his father and fulfilled them. In the same way, it is possible for God to bless you to the extent that nations will see you as a powerhouse and the rescuer of their economy. In his lifetime, John D. Rockefeller was a devoted Christian and the greatest businessman of all time because God prospered his oil enterprise so that he was richer than countries.

God can repeat the Abrahamic-Isaac-Rockefeller type of wealth in this generation. According to Deuteronomy 28:12, heaven will send rain to bless your work, and you will lend to nations rather than borrow, but only if you obey God’s commands. Endeavour to activate the Abrahamic blessings through your unwavering faith and obedience to God’s lead. Very soon, you will be sought after globally.

However, when God lifts you, be ready for opposition like the Philistines, who will try to disrupt the Abrahamic covenant in your life. Stand firm against these enemies. Be discerning and pleasing to God. He will make even your enemies reconcile with you, as was done by the Philistines.

2. Holy Spirit, help me to please God and let my haters be at peace with me.

(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)

1. Praise God until you have the assurance of entry into God’s gate and court.
