A VESSEL FOR CHRIST

Today’s Bible reading gives an account of Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. On that faithful day, Jesus rode an “untouched donkey” into the city, and the crowd gathered to hail him. Among this crowd were all kinds of people. There were the spectators, the ones who applauded Jesus, and others who held palm leaves and spread their valuable clothing on the way to honour the master.
Beloved, on which side are you? Are you just a spectator in the Church, a congregation observer, a prayer monitor, or a kingdom supporter? (Ephesians 6:7-8). Can you be a spotless vessel for Jesus even as the donkey he rode into Jerusalem was never used by anyone before? A story was told of a man who always volunteered to drive a pastor whenever he held a crusade in America. On one occasion, the pastor brought gifts for the man’s children, unaware that he had been married for 19 years without a child. But the man accepted the gifts by faith, and that same year, God blessed him with a child.
There is nothing you do for God that is not rewarded. You don’t have to be a pastor or leader before you can contribute to God’s work. Like the people who held leaves and spread their garments, you can give support in whatever capacity to propagate the gospel. Get active and use your talents. Make yourself a living sacrifice to honour and seek the prosperity of God’s kingdom, and you shall never know a better yesterday (1 Corinthians 15:58).

2. Father, in my life, please turn every source of sorrow, affliction, pain and regret into the fountain of joy.
3. Today, I receive fresh oil for the best impact on my generation. I shall not fail God!
