A LESSON FROM THE ANT

1 Timothy 6:7 – We didn’t bring anything into the world, and we can’t take anything out of it. (GWT)

An ant was seen carrying a leaf much bigger than what it was supposed to carry. At some point, the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor and paused for a while to analyse the situation. In response, the ant laid the huge leaf over the crack to walk over it before picking up the leaf to continue its journey. The ant is equipped by God with a brain to think, plan, and overcome. However, the creature had some shortcomings.

The ant had reached its destination (a small hole). But, it couldn’t carry the large leaf it carefully managed into the hole. After all the hard work and developing skills for overcoming difficulties, the ant left the leaf and went home empty-handed. Apparently, the ant had not thought about the end from the beginning, which left it with no option but to drop the leaf in order to reach its destination.

This story is similar to the human experience. We care about a variety of things, not realising that they are burdens we carry in fear of losing, only to abandon them all when we leave this world (Matthew 6:25-34). As seen in today’s Bible reading, not a single object will follow us to eternity. However, the only treasure worth having is our relationship with God, because it will determine our final destination. Are you prepared to meet with the Lord? If not, please accept Jesus today!

1. Father, extinguish every vain and ungodly desire in me and guide me to Heaven!

(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)

1. Father, terminate any bargain of hell and affliction going on against my life.

2. Father, please offload the baggage of fear, pride, sickness, and unbelief from my life.

3. Father, revive and raise a generation of committed soldiers in Your church and in this end time.

4. Spend quality time praying in the Holy Ghost.
