CHECK THE TIME
John 9:4 – I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. (NKJV)
Read: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 9:10-12
Time is the currency of life, as well as a measure of purpose. Every individual, nation, and organisation adjusts its schedule to changing seasons because time is critical to their productivity. God knew the importance of time when He created all things in 7 days. In the Bible text for today, Jesus also referred to the concept of time while emphasising the urgency of His mission, which was for a period.
This necessitates a self-assessment of the engagement with time. You should constantly ask yourself if you are fulfilling your divine purpose at the right time. This is because a fellow who refuses to sow at the appropriate hour is a waster. Time is nobody’s companion—it never stops ticking! People who understand the times, like the children of Issachar, make the most of their day and resources to achieve maximum success (1 Chronicles 12:32).
Beloved, start working on whatever you are determined to achieve this year, because there will come a time when you won’t be able to stretch yourself or access relevant resources as you used to. On the other hand, maybe you feel like you have wasted time and lost opportunities. If you tell God your situation, He can reverse your irreversible past and actions. Most importantly, the end of time is rapidly approaching. If need be, repent, surrender to Jesus, and make the most of the time because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-17).
PRAYER
Hymn: Work for the Night is Coming—Anna L. Coghill (1854)
1. Holy Spirit, help me to understand time and my life’s purpose.
2. Lord Jesus, turn my wasted years and efforts into a massive recovery and maximum achievement.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Let the fire of God expel the powers invading my space for unprofitable labour.
2. Ancestral monitors, assigned to ensure that I do not amount to anything in life, expire by fire!
3. Holy Ghost, possess me, my family, and the Church with the accuracy of thought, wisdom, and speech.
ENJOY DIVINE SPEED!
