THE PYTHON
Galatians 5:14 – For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (NLT)

A woman had a python that stopped eating for days. The desperate owner took the pet to the clinic, and the vet asked, “Does your snake wrap around you closely at night and spread out its length?” The woman said, “Yes! It does it daily. But, its loss of appetite makes me sad because I cannot help it.” Then, the vet said something shocking. “Madam, your pet is not sick. It is only preparing to eat you. It has stopped eating food to have enough space to swallow you. Every time the python hugs and wraps around your body, it checks how great a meal you are and how it must be ready for the attack.”
Beloved, this is relatable to life experiences. Examine yourself to see if you are the python or the prey. If you engage in gossip, envy, backbiting, revenge, or try to pull others down, you can be likened to the python. You should repent and start showing genuine love. Today’s Scripture admonishes that you love others as you love yourself. This will enable the presence of God to be manifest in your affairs.
On the other hand, you must be spiritually sensitive so you don’t become prey because even people close to you whom you are very affectionate with can have mean intentions. The case of Judas Iscariot confirms that mere affection and kisses are not always honest. If Judas could identify Jesus with a kiss so that the Roman soldiers could arrest him, you should beware of the unfriendly friend that embraces you. My prayer for you is that the Lord will grant you understanding.
