ABRAHAMIC COVENANT (Part 1)
Genesis 26:3-5 (3) – Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants, I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. (NIV)
Read: Genesis 26:12-33, Galatians 3:7, 14
The Bible text for today confirms that the activation of God’s goodness and prosperity upon Isaac was based on the covenant He had with Abraham. Genesis 15:6 says, “Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Therefore, in the same way righteousness does exalt a nation, Abraham’s unwavering faith (righteousness) qualified him for the office of the father of all nations.
God is the keeper of covenants. The faith of our fathers, in addition to your trust in God, can trigger the covenants of blessings in this generation. Just as God remembered His promises to Abraham and blessed Isaac, He is bound to bless you. This is because anyone who believes in Christ and puts their faith in God has automatic access to the blessings of Abraham.
Beloved, if you are not yet born again, do it quickly to enjoy the dividends of the Abrahamic covenant. After that, follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit as to how and where you can sow to maximise the blessings. Isaac also did not relent despite God’s promise to activate the Abrahamic blessings in his life. Instead, in Genesis 26:12-33, the man planted and reaped bountifully. If you want to prosper, you must work hard and be diligent. Through this, hardship and a lack of direction will be far from you.
PRAYER
Hymn: Faith of Our Fathers – Frederick W. Faber (1849)
1. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to the reality of the Abrahamic covenant and blessings in my life.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I receive the power to be diligent in my work and business.
2. Holy Spirit, uproot the traces of aimlessness from my heart and give me the resources I need to excel!
3. Spend time to proclaim the blessings of Abraham into your life, family, nation, and Church.
YOU SHALL PROSPER
