“THE GOD OF ALL FLESH”
Jeremiah 32:26-27 – Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? (KJV)
Read: John 5:1-15, 11:40-44
Today’s Bible reading is divided into six parts for proper understanding. The first two parts are that God’s word can be sent to a location, and it can speak. God is the King of kings who doesn’t mince words. He can specifically send His word to an individual or an entire territory. That the word of God can “speak” is figurative. It implies that the word can be a customised message, a sign, or an inspiration that educates and gives consciousness to a matter. Summarily, the word of God is sent purposely to speak to situations at the right time.
Verse 27 starts with “Behold”, which means to be alert or to pay attention to a proceeding action. The final three parts are where you need to be more sensitive because they are the main words sent by God. The word says, “I am the LORD”. In Exodus 3:14, God introduced Himself as the “I Am That I Am”. This shows that God is the uncreated creator who exists by Himself and is eternally present, making Him superior over all things.
The God of all flesh refers to God being the maker, preserver, and life to all creatures (flesh). The use of “flesh” for humans indicates their state of weakness and how, regardless of their strength, they cannot hinder God’s purpose. The last part is a question from the One with all the accolades so far discussed. He says, “Is there anything too hard for me?”
Beloved, this is a personal question for you. Many miracles in the Scriptures, including the order of creation, help answer the question. For example, there was a sick man at the pool of Bethesda without help for 38 years. Lazarus, too, was dead for four days. All these were impossible cases that resulted in testimonies after Jesus intervened. Your prayer today is to tell the same God of all flesh to repeat His wonder and showcase His power in your matter. There shall be a performance in your life!
