THE VERY DRY BONES! (Part 3)
2 Chronicles 20:18-25 (24) – And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. (KJV)
Read: Ezekiel 37:1–14
Today’s devotional concludes the topic of “The Very Dry Bones.” There are spiritual implications for why and how the bones in Ezekiel 37 became very dry and ended up in the valley of death.
God created humans as vessels with His breath to carry out His will. Job 33:4 says, “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.” In other words, without the breath and the indwelling of God’s spirit, there is no fulfilment of divine purpose. When a fellow operates outside the jurisdiction of the Holy Spirit, they are like an empty soul prowling around. Moreover, sin is the major limiting factor in walking in the spirit, and the reward of sin is death. This death brings one to the level of very dry bones.
Rebellion and ganging up can also cause spiritual dry bones. In today’s Bible reading, when Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir stood at war against Judah, Jehoshaphat only appointed praise singers, and the enemies fought themselves to destruction. The conspiracy of these cities against the city of God reduced them to a state of very dry bones.
Beloved, be careful not to conspire against the people or an individual anointed by God. The end is not always pleasant. God is jealous of His own and will cast their adversaries into a condition of spiritual and physical desolation. The good news is that when there is still life, you can cry out to God for repentance in the spiritual valley of dry bones. He will forgive you and repossess you with His spirit.
PRAYER
Hymn: Spirit of the Living God – Daniel Iverson (1926)
1. Father, please breathe into my spiritual wilderness and cause me to come alive.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, from today on, please speak to me and let me hear clearly.
2. Father, please take away my reproach completely and bless me indeed.
3. Lord Jesus, break every mountain of commotion and distraction that is blocking my vision, marriage, and the Church.
YOU SHALL NEVER BE USELESS IN DESTINY!
