EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT
Matthew 6:25-34 (31) – “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ (NLT)
Read: Proverbs 17:22
In 1988, Bobby McFerrin sang the hit track “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” This song has been an encouragement to the world. Today, many things give rise to fear and worry, causing people to lose hope. Fear and worry are also twin killers of joy, leading to compounded problems. However, God is saying to you this month, “Don’t panic; everything will be alright.”
The trust you have in the Lord is what makes the difference. Psalms 56:3 says, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” With this, David prevailed over all adversaries. Despite the situation, resist the urge to succumb to worry and instead place your confidence in God. He will dispel every mountain of affliction in your life and make you victorious.
On the other hand, fear and worry lead to grumbling. The antidote to this is “Thanksgiving.” Rejoice and appreciate what you have now, because what you complain about is what others are praying to acquire. Never let the thought of tomorrow discourage you. God, who brought you to where you are, will provide all you need for the future.
Beloved, as Christ admonished in the Bible text, do not think about or waste your efforts on mundane things, because they are full of uncertainties and the root cause of worry. Fear and worry never change anything, as tomorrow will take care of itself. Your response should be to rely on God, cultivate the courage to pray for your desires, and trust that the Lord will fulfil them according to His purpose.
PRAYER
Hymn: Everlasting Joy – Daniel S. Warner (1893)
1. Father, quench every iota of fear, worry, and sorrow in my life and take over my affairs!
2. Any altars of darkness sponsoring problems in my life, crash by fire!
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Spend time praying in the Holy Ghost.
THE HOLY GHOST SERVICE IS TOMORROW!
