BLESSED IS THE MAN
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (7) – “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. (NIV)
Read: Isaiah 41:10-14
There were two beggars who always stood at the palace gate. As the king rode by daily, the first beggar would shout, “Blessed is he whom the king helps”, while the second says, “Blessed is he whom God helps.” The king, who is often pleased to hear the first beggar’s praises, decided to reward him with a cake that had gold hidden in it. The beggar was so happy and hailed the king as usual. However, because he believed it was an ordinary cake, he sold it to the other beggar for a very low price.
The second beggar saw the gold in the cake, sold it, and became wealthy. The next day, he never returned to the king’s gate, and as the king rode out, he saw the first beggar still begging. He angrily asked if the beggar had eaten the cake. The man replied, “No, Sir. I sold it to my friend yesterday; I have not seen him here today.” The king shook his head and said, “Truly, blessed is he who God helps.”
Beloved, those who put their hope in God will never know shame but remain sturdy amidst challenging situations. With God on your side, no man, power, or rule can stop the divine blessings in your life, as affirmed in today’s key text. Keep trusting in the Lord, and all will be well.
PRAYER
Hymn: In Christ Alone – Stuart Townend & Keith Getty (2001)
1. Father, I put my trust in You. Please bless me and help me stick to Your plan.
2. Father, open my eyes to the divine riches in my locality and the wealth of nations.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, let me never be ashamed, because I hope in You!
2. Lord Jesus, put a definite end to every siege in my life, family, nation, and Church.
3. Holy Ghost! Destroy the crown of the prince of this world on my head.
WAIT ON THE LORD!
