LEARN FROM THE ANT
1 Timothy 6:7 – We didn’t bring anything into the world, and we can’t take anything out of it. (GWT)
Read: Matthew 6:25–34
An ant was carrying a leaf that was significantly larger than its size. At some point, the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor and paused for a while to analyse the situation. In response, the ant laid the huge leaf over the crack to walk over it before picking up the leaf to continue its journey. God has given the ant a brain that can think and plan, yet the creature has limitations.
The ant had reached its destination but couldn’t carry the large leaf it had carefully managed into the small hole. After all the attempts and hard work, the ant left the leaf and entered its home empty-handed. The ant had not thought about the end from the beginning, which caused it to return with nothing.
This story is similar to the human experience. We care about various things, not realising that they are burdens we carry in fear of losing, only to abandon them when we leave this world. As seen in today’s Bible reading, no object will follow anyone into eternity. However, the only treasure worth having while we are still alive is our relationship with God. This will determine the path to our final destination.
Beloved, how sure are you to reign with God when He returns? If unsure, please accept Jesus today!
PRAYER
Hymn: When We All Get to Heaven — Eliza E. Hewitt (1898).
1. Father, extinguish every vain and ungodly desire in me and guide me to Heaven!
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, terminate any bargain of hell and affliction going on against my life.
2. Father, please offload the baggage of fear, pride, sickness, and unbelief from my life.
3. Father, revive and raise a generation of committed soldiers in Your Church and in this end time.
SPEND QUALITY TIME PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST.
