NO TO FOOLISHNESS
Ecclesiastes 7:9 – Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool. (NLT)
Read: Proverbs 13:20
It is natural to feel angry occasionally, but what you do when angry could lead you to sin against God. Ephesians 4:26-27 says, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” The danger of anger is that it grants Satan the platform to manipulate your thoughts and actions during the furious moment. However, the ability to control yourself can save you from the calamities of anger.
Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit and works in line with love and patience. To restrain yourself from responding in times of anger, you must strengthen your relationship with God so that His fruits of self-control, love, and patience can germinate in your life.
In addition, you should examine yourself to identify what makes you annoyed. If you can work on what triggers your anger, you will avoid acting ungodly when provoked. If you do not do this, you will fall under the category of Solomon’s description of fools in today’s Bible reading: people who get angry quickly and hold grudges are considered as fools. Consequently, the companions of fools will be destroyed. My prayer for you is that you will not cause your own destruction through anger, in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, tell God to make you sensitive whenever nature or common sense stimulates you to respond in times of anger. Ask for the grace to exercise self-control. This will save you from the destruction lying in wait.

Hymn: Come into my Heart — Harry D. Clarke (1924)
1. I declare that the fruits of the Spirit shall germinate in my life and quench every rage of anger and darkness.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Chains of hindrance and defeat, binding my hands and feet, break!
2. Whoever says I will not reach my goal in life shall eat at my table of abundance.
3. Father, turn me into an epitome of Your glory and a blessing to nations.
