THE INNER CIRCLE!
Matthew 26:16 – From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over. (NIV)
Read: Matthew 26:14-25
Today’s Bible reading uncovers the betrayal of Jesus. Judas Iscariot, a disciple of Christ, betrayed His master. Everyone believed Judas Iscariot was a faithful follower, but he was actually a traitor with ulterior motives. Judas had met the high priests and bargained to deliver his master into their hands. However, Christ, who knew his thoughts, mentioned that someone would betray him, yet Judas maliciously said, “Rabbi, am I the one?”
Beloved, in your inner circle, there are people you think are friends but are enemies. These individuals exhibit traits similar to Judas and are willing to betray you by using the information they have against you. This group of conspirators have venomous tongues that they use to gossip, pull down, and inflict pain. But the good news is that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can see beyond the physical, just as Jesus discerned Judas’ intention.
When God grants you insight to see the forces aiming at your downfall, it serves as a significant step towards achieving victory. The next step is to stay spiritually and prayerfully alert to avert any attacks. Pray that the enemies will repent, but if they do not change, that God will judge them. How I pray for you this season is that you will never be a victim of the deadly strike of an unfriendly friend, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER
Hymn: Jesus Saves — Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
1. If there is any veil my attackers are using as a covering, Father, cause it to catch fire!
2. Father, deliver me from the internal and external enemies.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, let the powers of my adversaries and those of their enchanters turn to water.
2. Holy Spirit, seal every loophole in my garment of friendship.
3. Father, open my eyes to the source of the attacks on my life, family, business, and Church.
