PLAY YOUR PART

Despite God’s vision for man, it is man’s responsibility to make the plan a reality. When God shows you the path of purpose, you must put in the effort to get to your destination. The story of Joseph provides an example of how to realise God’s purpose and fulfil destiny. Joseph knew he was destined for greatness through his dreams, and he was never complacent. In Egypt, God’s presence was with the young man as he worked diligently, leading to the fulfilment of his destiny.
There was a story of two village boys. One was a prince, and the other was from the poorest family. The prince had the belief that he would inherit a fortune from his father, while the poor boy understood that hard work was necessary to have a chance in life. He began farming and prospered, gradually buying lands and expanding his business into other cities. On the other hand, the prince lost everything he expected to have because a war broke out in the village, causing the destruction of all the properties.
Beloved, whether you have a sure inheritance or not, every child of God has the potential for greatness. Never become lazy like the prince or chase unrealistic goals, as revealed in today’s Bible text. Instead, the secret to outstanding success is prayer and hard work, as Joseph did. If you aspire to control the resources of nations, work towards that goal. If you yearn for a miracle or wish to accomplish a mighty exploit for God, begin by planting spiritual seeds through praying, fasting, studying the Word, and leading a life guided by Christ. At the appointed time, your dreams and destiny will manifest according to God’s purpose.
