FRUITFULNESS (Part 11)
Luke 6:45 – A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (NIV)

This series has taught us that planting a tree in fertile ground and providing it with necessary nutrients is crucial for its development. This solidifies the tree from within, enabling it to function effectively and produce good fruit in appropriate seasons. Therefore, besides the external factors, the state of being fruitful is a function of the strength and richness of the inner part. In other words, the condition of the heart determines the outwardly seen human characters and actions.
The Bible focus for today explains that what you have on the template of your heart drives your words. Matthew 15:18-20 affirms that a man is not defiled by what goes into him but by what comes out of him. The things that proceed from the mouth come from the heart. Immoral acts such as evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies are what defile a man. This buttresses the idea that a person’s inner mind, thoughts, and motivations are more important in determining their state of fruitfulness.
Beloved, what you yield to has the most influence on your heart. If you tune your heart to the frequency of evil and degrading substances, be it through what you see or hear, you will undoubtedly replicate filthy characters. However, if you allow the Word of God to penetrate and strengthen your heart with Kingdom virtues, it will produce enormously high-quality fruit. The reception of God’s Word is very crucial, so much so that Apostle Paul prayed that the gospel would have a free course in the hearts of the people (2 Thessalonians 3:1). As you live daily, cultivate your mind to imbibe Godly virtues, and you will bear righteous, impactful fruits.
