THE STRATEGY OF THE ENEMY
Exodus 15:9 – The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. (KJV)

Today’s Bible reading reveals the mission and strategy of the enemy. Just as Pharaoh pursued the Israelites, the immediate intention of every enemy is to destroy innocent people. There are several reasons why wicked people attack. In the case of King Saul, he saw David as a threat to his throne, so he sought to kill him. However, David overcame the attacks with God’s help and even spared Saul when he could have killed him. If David had not had God in his defence, he would have become a victim of the enemy’s plot.
The enemy can also set traps to cover their reproach. A king once sent a messenger to drown three prominent chiefs because they knew about his secret. Afterwards, the ruler killed the messenger so nobody could trace the incident. This is similar to what David did to Uriah after he had slept with his wife, Beersheba. David positioned Uriah at the forefront of the battle, guaranteeing his death.
Beloved, don’t be ignorant of the strategy of the enemy. There are powers in your workplace, community, or family ready to hunt you because they perceive you as a threat to their plans. But the good news is that as you pray, the God who delivered the Israelites will rescue you from every Pharaoh planning your doom in Jesus’ name. Amen!
