TURNING AROUND FOR YOUR GOOD!
Genesis 50:20 – You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (NIV)
Read: Genesis 45:5-8, Romans 8:28-31
As children of the most-high God, we have a Father who can turn our blunders and others’ harmful intentions for us into something good. Joseph’s story in the Book of Genesis is an excellent example: what seemed like a terrible betrayal by his brothers was, in God’s eyes, the perfect setup for fulfilling Joseph’s destiny. If the brothers had not sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt, the lad would not have had the opportunity to showcase his Godly virtues and save lives, leading him to the palace. Today’s Bible text reveals that Joseph refused to focus on his brothers’ wickedness because he understood that everything was all part of God’s agenda.
Beloved, trials and disappointments are occasional divine arrangements to strengthen the faith of God’s children, or how could we appreciate our testimonies without first facing the test? Only by travelling through the tunnel can we genuinely value the light that beams at the end. To anyone feeling hopeless at this time because of past or current misfortunes, be encouraged by Joseph’s story and hear this: God can resurrect your hope and transform your dreams into a glorious reality.
On the other hand, regardless of what struggles you are experiencing—whether in your health, marriage, career, nation, or ministry—don’t waste time laying blame on anyone or their acts. Instead, put your trust fully in God. He will make you a source of blessings that will benefit nations, including your attackers, thereby turning their hearts to God.
