WHERE IS THE LOVE?
Matthew 24:12 – Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. (NLT)
Read: Matthew 24; 1 Timothy 6:10; 2 Timothy 3
The days are evil, and the hearts of people are becoming darkened. There was a story of a man who stabbed his mother to death on the assumption that she killed the father of the house. An eyewitness described the incident as shocking and barbaric, mainly because the mother and son had never had any significant quarrels before. But this time, an argument ensued, causing the 57-year-old woman to cry for help. Unfortunately, before anyone could rescue her, she died of multiple neck wounds.
There was also a 67-year-old school headteacher who reported the disappearance of his aged mother to the police force. However, 12 years later, the mother’s skeleton was discovered in the headteacher’s wardrobe. During interrogation, the man confessed to killing his mother for rituals, believing it would bring him wealth. The shocking truth is that the man is poorer than ever before. Today’s Bible text, coupled with these cruel incidents, shows that the end is near, or how could a child raise a voice or hands at their parents, not to mention killing and keeping the body in the cupboard? Where is the love?
Beloved, these are dangerous times, and Christ’s coming could be now or the next moment. He said in Revelation 3:11, “Behold, I come quickly with my rewards.” How prepared are you? Have you surrendered your life to Jesus Christ? If you haven’t done so, do it now or rededicate your life to Him to make it to eternity. In addition, when you accept Christ, the Holy Spirit will guard your heart and guide your thoughts in righteousness.
