PAY THE PRICE TO WIN THE PRIZE!
Daniel 3:18 – But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (KJV)
Read: Daniel 3; 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Everyone naturally desires to excel and have a good life. But the truth is that there are requirements to fulfil in order to attain greatness with God. In today’s Bible focus, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had the opportunity to live freely just by bowing to King Nebuchadnezzar’s inspired golden image as the people in the land did. Instead, the three Jewish men decided to stick to God and were ready to die for their decision. God responded by promoting them to high places.
There is a moral price to pay. Genesis 39 captures Joseph’s refusal to commit sexual immorality with his master’s wife. The boy paid the price by declining the offer, not because of Master Potiphar, who might not eventually know about the potential secret affair. But Joseph would not sin against God because he feared Him. Not many people can do such a thing!
There are costs associated with marriage. Over four decades ago, Sister Faith sacrificed all by marrying and standing by Bro David, who had nothing. The couple lacked resources so much that they ate baby cereals for days amidst other challenges. Nevertheless, today, Bro David is the renowned Bishop Oyedepo of Winner’s Chapel International.
Beloved, if you have any dreams to accomplish, always remember that there are conditions to fulfil; nothing comes easy. Therefore, in walking with God, commit to obeying Him through holiness, studying the Word, and a consistent prayer life. At home, be patient and faithful to your spouse. In your business dealings, be ready to take risks to invest more. Dear youth, zip up your trousers or skirts till you marry, as there is honour in this (Hebrews 13:4). 2 Timothy 2:15 also states that an outstanding student requires intense study. Above all, pray for the grace needed to fulfil God’s principles for success in all areas.
