DREAM BIG!
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (3) – For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (NIV)
Read: Genesis 37
On August 28, 1963, a crowd estimated at 125,000 gathered at Woodward Avenue, Detroit, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 34 deaths and numerous injuries caused by racial violence in America. That day, the convener, Reverend (Dr) Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered a remarkable speech, “I Have a Dream.” This speech revealed his hope of an America free of ethnic inequality, envisioning a Black president in the White House.
The Reverend’s address to the people appeared as a wild imagination at the time because a Black individual would not have dared to publicly sit where a White person was standing. However, on January 20, 2009, a Black man became the president of America, bringing to pass Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream.
Every significant accomplishment starts with a vision, which serves as a guide through the process of hard work. The story of Joseph aligns with this, as his dream shaped his destiny. Therefore, the worst thing that could ever happen to a person is not having a dream and setting goals to fulfil it. The Bible focus for today confirms that in as much as there is a revelational dream (added with diligence), it will come true, as exemplified in the cases of America and Joseph.
Beloved, I urge you to write down your vision, engage in consistent prayer, and have faith that no matter the circumstances, your dream will undoubtedly manifest. As you hold on, never allow sin and the fear of past failures to weigh you down. The great men of old had dreams and still do. You too can change your life and impact the world through your vision. Dream Big!
