SETBACK TO STEP-UP!
Job 14:7-9 (7) – “Even a tree has more hope! If it is cut down, it will sprout again and grow new branches. (NLT)
Read: Esther 6-7, Psalm 37:4, Proverbs 24:16.
There was a lady who was in a courtship with a military man. Unfortunately, the man jilted her by embarrassingly refusing to show up at the wedding. The lady almost passed out, but years later, she got married to a major general in the army who happened to be the state administrator. However, the beautiful part is that the man who initially broke up with the woman became the aide-de-camp (secretary) to the state administrator. Anytime the couple had functions, the man served at their command.
This story recalls the occurrence between Mordecai and Haman. By divine intervention, the king ordered Haman to decorate Mordecai, whom he had already planned to kill. Eventually, the king executed Haman—the hater—in the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. I pray for you! The mockers who had thought it was over for you shall be the first to carry coolers of rice and bottles of drinks at your celebration party, in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, refuse to moan about your life and the past because before a massive downpour comes a mighty wind. Relax your mind and be determined to rise from every unfortunate episode; it is worth less than your glorious tomorrow. Today’s Bible text confirms that regardless of trials and disappointments, if you do not give up praying and trusting God, you will rise again like the jilted sister and Mordecai did. More importantly, you need constant study of the Word and prayer to practically transform your setbacks into greater heights!
PRAYER
Hymn: Higher Ground – Johnson Oatman, Jr. (1898)
1. Father, please convert my failure in life and career into tangible expansion.
2. Lord Jesus, destroy every storm of shame, sickness, and reproach in my life (mention).
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Every plan of the wicked aimed to cause me sorrow on my day of glory—scatter and backfire!
2. Father, please cause my current challenges to lead me to my place of destiny.
3. Father, as individuals, families, community, and the Church, give us a new beginning!
THAT PROBLEM IS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE!
