GREED!
Ephesians 5:22-33 (25) – Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. (NIV)

A couple had been praying to have their own children after several years of waiting. However, the husband suddenly decided to marry another wife and attempted to use the legal wife for rituals. Consequently, he took the wife to the witch doctor, who would conduct the rituals but lied to the woman that she would be undergoing spiritual cleansing in order to be fruitful. While there, the woman, being a cultured lady, would respect everyone and clean the house.
The witch doctor, moved by the woman’s gestures, decided to reveal the husband’s devilish plans. After revealing the secret, he gave the woman a strategy that eventually trapped the husband, making him the victim of the ritual while the wife lived happily forever.
Beloved, this story presents several important lessons. Firstly, being lazy, idle-minded, or hasty can lead to theft, greed, and money rituals, which can result in death. Secondly, as seen in the Bible text for today, no matter the condition, intentionally love and stick to your spouse. Adultery and fornication are destroyers. More so, venturing into polygamy or polyandry may ruin yours and your children’s destinies. Finally, regardless of how terrible the situation is, your character will either directly save you or work in your favour. Always strive for the right attitude!
