CALL ON JESUS!

Romans 10:13 – All who call out to the Lord will be saved. (CEV)

Read: Philippians 2:9-11

In Mark 10:46-52, Blind Bartimaeus sat by the roadside when Jesus passed by. Hearing it was Christ, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Despite being rebuked by the people, the man continued to call out. Jesus stopped, called him over, and healed his blindness because of his faith.

The Bible text for today reveals that no one ever believed and called on the name of Jesus and remained in disarray because the name and the person of Jesus symbolise salvation. Matthew 1:21 says, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” This was the story of John Newton, who wrote the famous hymn “Amazing Grace.”

John was once a slave trader, but he was transformed during a storm at sea in 1748. Facing the imminent threat of death, Newton cried out to God for mercy. This experience marked the beginning of his salvation and transformation. He later became a prominent minister of God and a vocal advocate against the slave trade.

Beloved, there is power, security, deliverance, and assured hope in Christ. It doesn’t matter what has befallen you or the state of your sinfulness; if you believe in Jesus, you will be saved and have the same authority. Therefore, use the name to dislodge every demon, obstacle, incurable disease, heartache, curse, and deadly trap. The reality of Jesus will work wonders in your life!

1. Father, I declare that You are my Lord and Saviour.

2. Holy Spirit, help me rekindle my love for Jesus and to trust in Him.

3. Father, I receive the power, boldness, and utterance to proclaim Your name in all situations.
