LOVE IN A RELATIONSHIP (PART 2)
Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (NIV)
Read: Galatians 5:22-23
A relationship involves loving and associating with people with similar interests. There are benefits when sincere love is the bedrock of friendship, as found in Mark 2:1-12. Here, a paralysed man had friends who loved him and went as far as breaking the roof for him to be healed by Christ. I decree in Jesus’ name that before November ends, heaven shall put your love in the hearts of your helpers, and they shall assist you!
On the other hand, we need discernment because there are unfriendly friends who pretend to love but are haters (Proverbs 26:23-25). As revealed in the Bible text for today, the human heart is evil and deceptive; therefore, man can pretend and extend a manipulative type of love. Judas is a good example. If outward love were enough to get into God’s good books, Judas, who kissed Jesus on the night he was betrayed, would be celebrated today. Psalms 55:21 says, “His words are as smooth as butter, but in his heart is war. His words are as soothing as lotion, but underneath are daggers!
Beloved love is not enough for a relationship because the expression of love does not necessarily justify the genuineness of the heart. Instead, it is when we possess the Holy Ghost and respond to Him through which we manifest the fruits of the spirit. How deep and genuine is your love for God, spouse, children, neighbours, and colleagues? Think and ask God to help you!
PRAYER

1. Father, please establish me in a friendship that will glorify You.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Any power strategising to ridicule my star, scatter by fire!
2. Father, please secure my rightful position.
3. Lord Jesus, as a Church, family, and individuals, please plant Your love in us!
4. Anything attracting shame and oppression to my life, dry up!
5. Father, please bless me indeed!
