THE CLEVER FOXES
Song of Solomon 2:15 – Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom. (NIV)
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:17
Solomon used the analogy of little foxes in the scripture focus for today to show that minor things can destroy the good if not monitored. If you have studied little foxes, you will discover they are very clever. Therefore, Solomon’s metaphor of little foxes refers to subtle words or actions that could lead to sins and errors.
There was a man of God who was full of passion and power. He preached in several nations, meeting presidents and monarchs. All went well for this pastor and his ministry until he was found to have sexually abused a boy during a ministerial trip. This led to his imprisonment and downfall. I pray that any foxes (sin and bad habits) assigned to spoil your vineyards of grace and honour shall perish, in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, 2 Peter 3:17 warns every child of God to be on their guard so that they may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from their secure position. If you have fallen prey to any little foxes, restoration is available in Christ. Do not procrastinate; instead, tell Jesus about your situation right now. He is the surest helper who will erase your mistakes, give you a fresh start, and lead you by His Spirit. Cry out in prayer to receive the power to stay vigilant and continuously prevail in your Christian journey.
PRAYER
Hymn: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose – Charlotte Elliott (1836)
1. Father, I repent and surrender all to You (confess). Please delete my mistakes, restore me, and never allow me to go astray from the path of life.
2. Father, possess me with the Holy Spirit to order my steps and please You always.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, help me to be in tune with Your Word and not conform to the pattern of the world.
2. Anyone under the radar of Satan in my family and Church, Father, deliver them!
3. Thank God for a new beginning!
