VALUE YOUR MOUTH
Matthew 14:22-31 (30) – But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. (NLT)
Read: Luke 18:1-8
A man had three options to choose from: have the eyes to see, the ear to hear, or the mouth to speak. The fellow quickly picked the last option, which was to be able to talk. This choice was preferred because, even when sight and hearing are lost, the mouth can cry out for help. In today’s Scripture focus, Peter had a similar experience when the wind became turbulent as he walked on water. He began to sink, but he wasted no time to scream aloud with his mouth, “Lord, save me!”
Beloved, many people keep silent and do not cry for help in times of trouble because they have other options. The mouth is not created as a decoration or for illogical activities; it is formed for communication and expressing what is in the heart to God (Prayer). Therefore, if you are experiencing sorrows, confusion, loneliness, stagnation, spiritual blindness, and health, career, and marital crises, you shouldn’t keep quiet at any time. Instead, endeavour to engage your mouth positively like the man who chose the organ. Also, pray ceaselessly to draw divine attention as Peter cried out and received an instant answer. God has intervened in your matter.
