GIVING AND TAKING!
Isaiah 55:10 – For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: (KJV)
Read: Luke 6:38
The law of nature centres around giving and taking (harvest). This depicts that the measure of your input determines the proportion of what you get. The Bible reading for today says the rain waters the earth and causes it to yield resources for those who qualify for harvest. In other words, only the Sowers have access to harvest. There is a time for sowing and a time for eating. The rain will only germinate the seeds already sown. If you desire to achieve great things, you must sow bountifully.
In 1 Kings 17:10-24, the widow of Zarephath had one last meal to feed herself and her son. However, Prophet Elijah requested that the woman prepare a meal for him from the little she had. The woman obeyed and got a blessing of prosperity. Even when her son died, he was revived by the same prophet. All these came to bear as a reason for widow’s giving.
Beloved, the Word of God is truth and life. Key into this understanding of giving and committing to it sacrificially like the widow of Zarephath. You can release your reserved portion of meal, gifts, and kindness for a godly purpose as led by the Holy Spirit. You could also release yourself and devout your time and talent for evangelism. As you do this, your blessings will be innumerable.
