SEEK SPIRITUAL GROWTH
1 Corinthians 3:1-5 (2) – I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. (NIV)
Read: Galatians 5:22-26
One of the most essential requirements for a glorious life is spiritual growth. In today’s Bible reading, Paul told the Corinthian Church that they were worldly and unprepared for solid food because they could not digest it. If Paul had fed the people spiritual food, it would have been like feeding a newborn a burger.
Many Christians who claim to have been born again are still carnal and immature. Their character reveals that they are religious and find it challenging to submit to what will make them develop spiritually. Several self-professed Christians still give room for the works of the flesh, such as envy, pride, unforgiveness, greed, immorality, and falling for superstitious beliefs. This explains why the seeds sown in the body of Christ often fail to germinate.
Beloved, spiritual growth is important if you want to become great and continually live a life that pleases God. You can’t be a baby and eat solid food at the same time! You must grow up by subjecting your body to the Holy Spirit, who will guide your path and keep you from falling. I urge you to seek repentance if necessary and to be continually nurtured in Christ. By doing so, your growth and greatness will not be questionable.
PRAYER
Hymn: Draw Me Nearer – Frances J. Crosby (1875)
1. Repent of anything causing spiritual weakness in your life, and ask God to help you grow in Him.
2. Father, revive my spiritual life and open my eyes to understanding what I must do to be great.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Holy Ghost, please take over my life, body, soul, and spirit.
2. I decree that I will not lose my secure position in Christ and destiny. God reshapes my mind to align with His purpose!
3. I decree that I am granted the ability to live beyond the physical.
