THE SECOND HALF
Ecclesiastes 7:8 – The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (NKJV)
Read: Genesis 41:41-45, 50:26
On Wednesday, May 25, 2005, AC Milan of Italy led Liverpool Football Club (FC) of England by 3-0 at halftime of the Champions League final. With all hopes lost, the English fans began to leave the stadium. However, the tide turned in the second half when Liverpool scored in the 54th and 56th minutes, eventually equalising with 30 minutes left to play. Liverpool went on to win the game that night on penalties. It was an historic day!
This story serves as a reminder that, regardless of the challenges you have faced so far this year, you can still prevail and achieve success. The Book of Genesis chronicles Joseph’s rough beginning. He went through both the thick and the thin, even within his immediate family. The brothers sold Joseph into slavery in a land where he was imprisoned for approximately 5 years. However, the man became prime minister at 30 and reigned for 80 years in honour, royalty, and abundance.
Beloved, Liverpool FC and Joseph’s experience are indicators that the uncertainties surrounding your expectations for the year do not define the end of the matter when God is involved. If you make God your source and director, your experience from January to date will certainly not compare to the glorious days and months ahead. Let the Bible reading for today, which affirms that “Better is the end of a thing”, further inspire you. Believe it, and be diligent in your work and prayers. The plans you had that could not manifest earlier will begin to take shape.
PRAYER
Hymn: Leaning on the Everlasting Arms – Elisha A. Hoffman (1887)
1. I decree that though January to June may have been challenging, July to December 2024 will be exceedingly sweeter than sweet.
Therefore, Father, connect me to helpers that will assist me in fulfilling my destiny.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Spend quality time to praise the Lord.
FRIDAY IS HOLY GHOST NIGHT!
