No one chose the type of family or place of birth because we came into the world to live by what was already done. For example, many forefathers shed innocent blood, and their offspring are now held to pay for their atrocities. These offspring are the ‘lawful captives’ because they are hunted through an offence committed by their bloodline (Isaiah 49:24-25). The reason why a family look and act alike are because they share the same blood (Leviticus 17:11A). Therefore, this captivity could also be transferred to generations!
What is your family history? Have you investigated, to know why there are ceaseless battles and labour without results? Do the men prosper and live longer than a peak age? Why are women not getting married, or so late in the family? Have you ever asked why that strange illness persist? Because, many have begun to experience and live the lifestyle that led their parents to untimely death, poverty and wrong marriage, among other things.
Beloved, life is more than the physical (Romans 8:6; Ephesians 6:12). Wake up, dig deep and free yourself from the consequences of sins you never committed. The good news is that Jesus is the escape route! As seen in our Bible reading, His death on the cross cleared our lawful and illegal bondage. So, if you accept Christ, you automatically become His’ family (Romans 8:16-17)— which means, you won’t be charged the costs of yours or inherited past.
Hymn: Jesus Saves – Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
1. Father, please forgive and cleanse me of the repercussion of mine and ancestral errors.
2. Blood of Jesus! Break my family’s evil pattern and soul-tie, holding down my destiny and children (Repeat at midnight).
1. I shall not die but live to the glory of God (Decree)
2. Father, help me operate in the spiritual and never be carnal.
